FOX45s Baltimore Idol 2013 OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
To enter the FOX45 Baltimore Idol/American Idol Auditions you must be a legal U.S. resident living within the Baltimore viewing area, be between 15 to 28 years old on July 13, 2012 (which means you must be born on or between July 13, 1984 and July 13, 1997), and the ability to comply with American Idol eligibility requirements located at www.americanidol.com/auditions. The WBFF viewing area is defined by the following counties: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Carroll, Harford, Howard, and Queen Annes. Contest is void outside the United States and where prohibited or restricted by law. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC, and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WBFF (the Station), WNUV, WUTB, FOX Broadcasting Company, News Corporation, FOX Interactive Media, FremantleMedia North America, Inc., AMERICAN IDOL Productions, Inc., 19 Recordings, Inc., 19 Entertainment Ltd.,19 Entertainment, Inc. , 19 Touring LLC., CORE Media Group Inc., 19 TV Limited, their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each., advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term immediate families includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. The cast call is for amateurs only. Members of SAG or AFTRA are not eligible.
HOW TO ENTER:
a) The Station will conduct an audition with respect to the singing skills of the eligible entrants from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the former GameStop store located at Hunt Valley Towne Centre, 118 Shawan Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21030. Entrants must register on-site the day of the audition. Contestants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present at the audition to sign the registration form..
b) At the audition, all eligible entrants will be required to perform a song of their choice a cappella. Entrants should be prepared to perform at least 30 seconds of their song for the audition. Entrants are not permitted to deviate from this guideline. Should an entrant fail to comply with either the official rules, or fail to appear for the competition when announced, then such entrant shall be disqualified.
c) Limit of one entry per person. If more than one entry is received from the same person, then that person will be disqualified. All entries (including all audio and/or videotapes) become the property of the Station and will not be returned. The maximum number of entrants is 270, however, the Station reserves the right to cut off the registration and/or audition line.
d) All entries received that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries, (including any audio or videotape), become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC, and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.
JUDGING OF AUDITION:
a) All eligible entrants will perform before a panel of three (3) judges and shall be judged based on vocal talent (33 1/3%), execution/personality (33 1/3%), and appearance (33 1/3%). The judges shall deem one (1) winner based on the highest score of the criterion set forth above.
b) In the event of a tie that cannot be resolved by the judges, the entrant with the highest vocal talent score will be chosen. If that fails to resolve the tie, then the winner will be randomly selected from among the tied entrants.
c) The winner will be notified within one day of the audition. The winner will be announced on FOX45 Morning News on Monday, July 22, 2013, which airs weekdays between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The winner is not required to be present to win.
d) The decisions of the Station (including interpretation of rules) and all judges are final.
a) The winner will receive a guaranteed audition before American Idol producers/casting executives in Boston, Mass on August 2, 2013. The prize includes roundtrip airfare for two (2) from Baltimore to Boston (economy class), three (3) nights hotel accommodations (one room, double occupancy), and the guaranteed audition. The prize does not include any other travel expenses, other hotel accommodations, meals, parking, baggage fees, miscellaneous airline fees, trip cancellation insurance, gratuities, or any other expenses. The winner is only guaranteed one audition in front of an American Idol Producer/casting executive. The winner will not audition in front of the American Idol judges or any AMERICAN IDOL celebrity or Guest Judge during this guaranteed audition. The winner will be judged under the criteria listed in the official American Idol rules (available at americanidol.com) and will not receive preferential treatment for callbacks. Decisions for callbacks are made solely by the judges. The value of the prize package is approximately $900, and winner will be notified of the actual prize value. The value of the guaranteed audition cannot be determined. In the event the production of American Idol is canceled or postponed, the audition ticket portion of the prizing may be canceled without substitution or compensation.
b) Winner will be notified by phone. Winner must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within 2 days of notification. If a winner is a minor, then the winners parents or guardian must sign a release and affidavit of eligibility before the winner receives his or her prize. Winners must show picture identification to claim prizes. All persons traveling on the trip must be 18 years of age or over, unless travelers under 18 are accompanied by at least one adult who is the parent or legal guardian of all of the minors. All persons traveling on the trip must also sign and return a release which must be returned with the winners release and affidavit of eligibility within the time frame specified above. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented. Winner may be required to sign additional documents as determined by the American Idol producers.
c) If the winner cannot be notified within two (2) days, or does not timely sign and return the release and affidavit of eligibility, then the prize will be forfeited, and time permitting, an alternate winner with the next highest score may be selected as an alternate winner in the judges sole and absolute discretion.
d) There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
e) The winner is responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prize as set forth in these rules.
f) Only one prize will be awarded per household.
g) Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and Sinclair Communications, LLC are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize. The Station, sponsors, and prize provider shall not be responsible for winners failure to take the trip within the time frame described above, or cancellation of the trip by the winner.
h) Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and Sinclair Communications, LLC are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
i) In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and Sinclair Communications, LLC have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

3. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.

5. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates, or cancel the contest due to events of force majeure as well as due to changes in the American Idol production and broadcast schedules.
