The first jersey barrier was lowered just outside the Baltimore convention center on Tuesday. It marked the start of construction on the course for the third annual Grand Prix of Baltimore.
The race begins in less than a month. Construction on the 12-turn, two-mile course will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to minimize the impact on downtown traffic.
This year's Grand Prix features a new junior admission policy under which adults who purchase a general admission ticket can bring a child 12 or younger to the event at no cost.
