Funeral Held for Boy Who Died in Foster Home

A funeral was held Saturday for Damaud Martin, a 10-year-old boy who died at a Laurel group home last week.
Family, friends and case workers for Martin attended after he died last week under the care of a home for disabled foster children.
The LifeLine, Inc. home has since closed and the children have been moved by state inspectors.
Police have now taken over the investigation. Originally Anne Arundel County police were involved but Baltimore City police have taken over as Damaud had suffered a "prior trauma abuse incident" there.
Tamekia Martin, Damaud's biological mother, was convicted of child abuse five-years ago after he was hospitalized with a severe brain injury.
Martin's family says they have planned a rally against medical abuse and foster care corruption.
