Funeral Service Set for Midshipman Found Underwater on Naval Academy Grounds

A funeral service for 25-year-old Midshipman Max Allen will be held Friday at the Naval Academy's Main Chapel. Allen's body was recovered underwater near the seawall on Academy grounds after his white SUV was discovered Sunday, Feb. 16, in College Creek near the Nimitz library.
The funeral service will be held at noon. Afterwards an on-foot funeral procession and burial will occur at the Naval Academy Cemetery.
Midshipman Allen was an oceanography major at the Naval Academy and was a member of the 1st Company within the Brigade. He was a member of the Club Soccer Team and the Italian-American and Japanese-American clubs at the academy. He attended high school at the Haverford School in Pennsylvania and also attended Virginia Tech for two years prior to being inducted into the Naval Academy.
Midshipman Allen was slated to serve in the aviation community as a Naval Flight Officer after graduation and commissioning this May.
