Maryland Astronaut Aboard ISS Tweets Baltimore Photo From Space

A Baltimore native and graduate of Dulaney High School, G. Reid Wiseman tweeted a photo of Baltimore from his post on the International Space Station earlier this week.

"Nice to fly over my hometown #Baltimore," Wiseman posted. "Camden yards clearly visible. Go @Orioles."

He later posted a photo of the sunrise over Maryland saying, "If they were awake, I shared a great sunrise with my parents over #Maryland."

Wiseman is also a graduate of Baltimore's Johns Hopkins University, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering.

Wiseman reported to the Johnson Space Center in August 2009 and completed astronaut candidate training in May 2011. He is currently serving as flight engineer aboard the International Space Station for Expedition 41.

Wiseman launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on May 29, 2014 to the International Space Station along with Soyuz Commander Maxim Suraev of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) and Flight Engineer Alexander Gerst of the European Space Agency.
