The department plans to throw out at least 50 internal affairs investigations.
The police say the dismissals are the direct result of administrative mishandling on behalf of the former attorney for the trial board, Joann Woodson Branch.
Branch has now come forward with claims against the department and what's happening behind the scenes.
Branch's attorney, Warren Brown, says his client has documentation to confirm the claims and plans to go public with them soon.
