Opening statements were supposed to begin Tuesday morning in the trial of Mark Castillo, but have been delayed due to jury selection and some issues with Castillo.

He is reportedly being uncooperative, but a judge has said that once jury selection is complete, the trial will go on.

Castillo is the Montgomery County father accused of killing his three children, ages 2, 4, and 6, by drowning them in a bathtub at the Marriott Inner Harbor Hotel in March of last year.

Police suspect Castillo wanted revenge after a bitter custody battle with his estranged wife, who had sought protective orders against him but was denied.

A taped confession Castillo made to police has already been played inside the courtroom, but his defense team wants that confession thrown out.

They'll make their stance clear during opening statements today.

A judge has issued a gag order in this case.

If Castillo is found guilty he could be facing three consecutive life sentences.Castillo Not Allowed in Court - Joy Lepola
