The man expected to take over as president of Baltimore City Council is facing questions over a home in Harford County that he listed as a primary residence.

With just days to go before the vote, leading candidate Councilman Jack Young is under fire for listing two properties as his primary residence for nearly ten years.

By law, council members must reside in the city and district they represent.

Records obtained by Fox 45 show that Young sold the property in Harford County in 2005- Nine years after he gained a seat on City Council.

The veteran councilman is asking why this has become an issue just days before he expects to take over the seat Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will vacate to become the city's next mayor.

Young suggests that it's a possible smear campaign. He also said he plans to resign from his state job if he is elected council president.
