WBFF - Crime & Justice - Corrections Officer Arrested- Joy Lepola
A correctional officer was arrested over the weekend after an inmate offered her a bribe at the Baltimore City Detention Center.

The officer, 20-year-old Shanika Johnson was caught smuggling marijuana and cell phones into the prison, authorities said.

Johnson admitted that she was offered $1000 by a detainee, according to arrest records.

Commissioner Wendell France said there is no place for corrupt correctional officers in his facilities.

He said the marijuana most likely would have been sold inside the prison, and the cell phones used to continue a criminal enterprise.Corrections Officer Arrested- Joy Lepola
