Eighteen-year-old Troy Taylor and 19-year-old Michael Hunter, both of Baltimore, were arrested Thursday.
Each is charged with first-degree murder in the killing April 8 of 72-year-old Charles Bowman, a Vietnam veteran who worked as a security guard at the Afro-American newspaper.
Hunter's criminal record includes a conviction for a handgun violation in December, which resulted in a two-year sentence. But one year and 10 months of that sentence were suspended, according to court records. In 2007, armed carjacking charges were dropped a month after they were filed.
At the time of Bowman's shooting, Taylor was out of jail on $15,000 bond awaiting trial in May on charges of robbery, assault and car theft, court records show.
