Police say Levar Bailey attacked the 2-year-old pit bull/shepherd mix about 6 p.m. Tuesday in his neighbor`s gated yard on Wylie Avenue.
Bailey has a history of mental illness and was taken to an area hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
The dog, named Okashia, is being treated at Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Catonsville and may lose her eye.
Donations for her vet care are being accepted through the BARCS Franky Fund at baltimoreanimalshelter.org
