WBFF - Crime & Justice - Fox45 Investigates City Police Murder Clearance Rate - Joy Lepola
Police are still searching for clues in the murder of a star high school basketball player who was gunned down in the streets of Baltimore.

John Crowder, 17, was found shot July 5 on Garrett Ave. near Coldstream Homestead Montebello. He played forward for Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School in Essex and was preparing for a July tour with the Nike Baltimore Elite AAU team.

Crowder's murder is among 70 percent of this year's homicides that remain unsolved, according to a Fox 45 investigation.

Police noted that a number of homicides from previous years have been cleared in 2010. But even with that number factored in, Baltimore's clearance rate this year is lower than the national average.Fox45 Investigates City Police Murder Clearance Rate - Joy Lepola
