KATHLEEN CAIRNS is currently a general assignment reporter for FOX45. Kathleen has been with the News at Ten since its inception in June 1991.

Kathleen has won 5 Emmy Awards, most recently in 1999 for a soft news feature, the Cover Story called "Heart to Heart." Kathleen has also won the prestigious RTNDA Award, for a story involving a family trapped in a fire. She has also won numerous AP and SPJ Awards. Kathleen has also been recognized for her work on domestic violence issues.

Prior to WBFF, Kathleen worked at WRGB, in Albany, New York. She is a Cum Laude graduate of The State University of New York at Albany. She is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists.
