Blast Falls to Comets in Championship Series

After winning game 2 of the MISL semifinal series the Blast forced a 15- minute mini game against the Comets.  Missouri pushed past the Blast 6-4 and went home with the MISL Championship Title.


 


After a huge defensive stand by the Blast defense and a goal saving block by Pat Healey to start the quarter, Max Ferdinand gave the Blast a lead at 6:32 with a goal off an assist from Marco Mangione. With 5:36 on the clock the Comets answered as Lucas Rodriguez scored off a Stefan St. Louis assist to tie it at 2. After scoring a hat trick in game two Neto wasn’t done for the night yet; at 2:49  he gave the Blast the lead while Tony Donatelli recorded the assist. The Comets tied it up at 1:34 off a Stefan St. Louis goal with an assist from Lucas Rodriguez. With 0:54 seconds remaining, the Comets’ Brian Harris, who won the 2013-14 Championship series MVP, the game winning goal off an assist from Leo Gibson. At the final buzzer the Blast had lost 6-4.


 


Offensively, Adauto Neto led the way recording a hat trick in game two and added a goal in game 3. Neto had 9 points on the night. Mike Lookingland had 3 assists in the game 2 win while six different Blast players were able to record goals. Goalkeeper William Vanzela recorded 7 saves in game two and 1 in game three.
