Updated: Saturday, November 23 2013, 09:13 PM EST

TOWSON, Md. - Junior Terrance West scored three touchdowns and ran for 100 yards to support a solid defensive effort as the No. 7 Tigers (10-2, 6-2) outlasted James Madison University (6-6, 3-5) by a 28-17 margin in the Colonial Athletic Association finale for both teams at Unitas Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

For the Tigers, it was their first win over the Dukes since 1992 as they snapped an eight-game losing streak to the Dukes. It also enabled them to have a 10-victory season for the first time since 1983.

With the win, the Tigers improved their chances of being one of the eight seeded teams when the NCAA FCS playoff field is announced on Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. on ESPNU. The NCAA will unveil its 24-team FCS playoff field and the top eight teams receive a bye.
