Terps Head Coach on Military Bowl: We Need Our Fans to Be Loud

Updated: Wednesday, December 18 2013, 11:49 AM EST

The University of Maryland "Terps" are headed to the Military Bowl two days after Christmas.

For Head Coach Randy Edsall, it will be his first Bowl Game as head coach at UMD.

"It's great to be playing this time of the year," Edsall said. "We got a good group of guys, we've got a great leadership council...we've got a mature group that really understands what they want to do."

The Terps will take on West Virginia's Marshall University on December 27 at Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis.

"It should be a home field advantage for us," Edsall said. "We're really looking forward to playing in the state capitol."

It will be the first time the two teams have faced each other.

"We need to have more fans [than Marshall] and we need them to be loud because Marshall is a very good opponent," Edsall said.

The Military Bowl will be the fifth bowl appearance in the past eight seasons for the Terps. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 27.
